Window Screen
Cleaning Process
Over time, your windows screens filter the air that comes into your home and collect dust, pollen, dirt and other contaminants can leave them looking dark and dull, reducing natural light and affecting the overall appearance of your home. Without proper cleaning, this buildup can become harder to remove and lead to permanent damage.
Step 1: Scrub
Using our handheld “mop” and a healthy dose of our biodegradable soap, we scrub the window screen vigorously on both sides of the screen. This loosens up and suspends all of the dirt and grime that has built up over the past few months.
Step 2: Rinse
Next, we use a high pressure nozzle to thoroughly rinse all of the soap and dirt from both the inside and outside of the screen, as well as the edges of the frame. A good rinse will ensure no streaks show up after the screen dries and is replaced.
Step 3: Dry
We use a lint-free microfiber towel to absorb and remove the remaining water from the both sides of the screen, as well as the surrounding frame. This is an important step that ensures dirt won’t be attracted to the screen.
Step 4: Replace
The final step is to make sure we replace the screen back into the same window it came out of. This is important because screens are often difficult to remove and replace, and we don’t want to burden the homeowner with such a task.

We recommend that your window screens be professionally cleaned at least two times a year when your interior and exterior windows are cleaned. This ensures that all contaminants will be removed from your screens before they can cause permanent damage.
When cleaning your window screens, we make sure to wash, rinse and dry both sides of the screens, as well as the frames. This ensures there won’t be any dirt left that could wash off those area onto your nice clean windows.
If your screens are badly damaged, we wouldn’t be able to wash them because that would just create more damage. At that point, we would recommend our screen repair service which replaces the screen mesh and surrounding seal.
Typically, we charge $4 per screen for the cleaning service. However, we often have promotions that offer free screen cleaning with interior and exterior window cleanings. Or, several of our Maintenance Plans have screen cleaning included for free.
